Washout!

A Day to Forget

Plymouth was today battered by 60-70mph winds and torrential rain that left many of the city's drains unable to cope. Several roads were cut off, obstructed or closed and there were a few accidents also reported.

Travel in the city was a snail pace in many areas. It has to be said Plymouth Citybus did cope very well, making a good effort to keep all services running to the best of their ability.

Here are just a few pictures from the day...

There is change on the way though...

Dreaming of a white Christmas?

As i have been scouring the news, I have come across a few reports from various different media outlets all claiming we are in for an extremely harsh winter. One, in actual fact, said to be the coldest in 100 years for the UK.

Now every year we are all sceptical as to whether it will snow or not when we are told. As we all know forecasters do get it wrong.

However this year, so far, their predictions have been pretty spot on. They predicted the wettest summer yet, and the weather delivered. We had the wettest June-July period in years, and had a washout of a summer. As I write this, it is pouring down, and the current forecast is for gales, Heavy rain (causing flooding) and mild temperatures.

However just next week this is all set to change. As we lose the mild air and the wind changes from South Westerly to North Easterly, we are all going to notice the bitter time ahead.

Prepare for frosts, Cold days, and the possibility of snow anywhere. Though it is hard for the forecasters at present, there are strong signs that winter could have a grip on us for some weeks ahead. Yes there will be showers and some fry interludes, however it will be bitterly cold.

So wrap up people, that is after putting your umbrellas away. Remember if travelling, ALWAYS take emergency supplies when travelling in a car in case of a breakdown. Always wrap up and eat hot meals to sustain body temperature. Take care this winter

Snow on the way?

This year has been a mixed bag of, sun, wind, rain, snow, hail, thunder... Well just about everything the weather has to offer. With no real summer, and a colder than average year, what has winter got in store for 2012?

The UK is facing gales and torrential rain in the next week ahead, this on top of everything we have already had, makes for some very soggy ground and potential flooding. Remember at the beginning of the year when hose pipe bans were in effect?

Britain is bracing its self for one of the harshest winters on record for around 100 years.

Bullet to the Head

Do you like Action, Guns, Explosions, Fights, Car Chases, and more? Then keep reading...

Bullet to the Head is a new all action packed outing from Sylvester Stallone. The film is based on Stallone and a police officer (Sung Kang) who he teams up with, going after a man who killed both their partners. This is as action packed as you would expect from a thriller of this nature. Already jumping into The Expendables 3, Sylvester Stallone never stops giving with this fast paced, pack a punch film title.

Do you have any thoughts? Has Sylvester Stallone passed it? Still think he knows how to create a good film?
