As i have been scouring the news, I have come across a few reports from various different media outlets all claiming we are in for an extremely harsh winter. One, in actual fact, said to be the coldest in 100 years for the UK.
Now every year we are all sceptical as to whether it will snow or not when we are told. As we all know forecasters do get it wrong.
However this year, so far, their predictions have been pretty spot on. They predicted the wettest summer yet, and the weather delivered. We had the wettest June-July period in years, and had a washout of a summer. As I write this, it is pouring down, and the current forecast is for gales, Heavy rain (causing flooding) and mild temperatures.
However just next week this is all set to change. As we lose the mild air and the wind changes from South Westerly to North Easterly, we are all going to notice the bitter time ahead.
Prepare for frosts, Cold days, and the possibility of snow anywhere. Though it is hard for the forecasters at present, there are strong signs that winter could have a grip on us for some weeks ahead. Yes there will be showers and some fry interludes, however it will be bitterly cold.
So wrap up people, that is after putting your umbrellas away. Remember if travelling, ALWAYS take emergency supplies when travelling in a car in case of a breakdown. Always wrap up and eat hot meals to sustain body temperature. Take care this winter
